Santa Jam Toy Drive and Musician Showcase

More than 5,500 toys distributed so far!

Mission Statement and Purpose:

Through toys, we bring smiles to the faces of children during the holidays, at a time when they really need and could use it most.

Our concerts not only produce music, they produce toys, love, and compassion for those less fortunate.

We then 'pay this forward' with other local non-profits and child advocate organizations in the area that the shows are held.

The back story

The Story:

A child was hospitalized, at 5 months old, for open heart surgery in 2002. During his stay the hospital, the nurses gave him a few toys to help comfort him during his stay.

When asked where the toys came from, his dad was told that the hospital doesn't buy toys, but organizations and individuals donate toys to give to the children in times of need.

In 2011 that father, Steve McMullen, came up with the idea to hold three days of concerts and ask everyone to bring a toy, so that we could give them to local hospitals and other non-profits.

Steve enlisted the help of Evelyn Bruner, a local/regional band expert, and Santa Jam was officially put into motion. That weekend of shows were a huge hit, and 5,519 toys later, the concerts and love continue today!

Musician Showcase for Artists:

For seven years we have produced concerts all across the state of Florida called 'Santa Jam', in which musicians and sponsors unite in a toy fundraiser for sick and injured children admitted to local hospitals during the holidays, as well as needy families in the immediate area.

At the same time, musicians and artists make a donation of their talents by performing in the event, which is typically by performing a 45 minute to 1 and a half hour set of music.

This gives the artist a connection to reach a larger audience, the opportunity to network with other musicians and industry reps, as well as receive a token of our appreciation for each performance (2017 - each on-stage band member recieved a gift bag of mercahndise and goodies as a thank you).

After the concerts we make donations of toys and funds received at the show, to local charities, such as Episcopal Childrens Services, UF Health, Love Inc, Sparky's Kids, Catholic Charities, The St. Francis House, Partnership for Strong Families, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Downtown Ministries, local area 'Angel Trees', The Salvation Army and more.

The shows have been an overwhelming success, and we have delivered and distributed more than 5,500 toys since we started in December of 2011, and have donated several thousand dollars to child programs.
